After bringing home my first weimaraner in 2007 I knew immediately that I wanted to make this breed part of my life forever. I have completely fallen in love with the breed's loyalty and intelligence and I know for certain that I'll always have a Weimaraner engraved in my heart.
I currently live just north of Perth in Western Australia. I moved back to WA in 2007 when I was accepted into Murdoch University's Veterinary Science Program. Being a vet student takes up a huge amount of my time and is the main reason why I haven't been able to title the dogs in other disciplines besides conformation. I'm currently over half way through the six year course and once it's all over and done with I hope to work towards the dogs obedience, retrieving and tracking titles.
Becoming a responsible breeder is very important to me and I intend to take this role very seriously. I believe irresponsible breeding is a major reason why there are so many unwanted dogs and puppies ending up in shelters. I truly believe the public needs to be better educated when it comes to finding a dog or puppy for their family. Where you put your dollar is where you are placing your support and people need to recognise what a responsible breeder is so they can support them. There are to many breeders, some registered with their canine associations and some who are backyard breeders who do not take responsibility for the dogs they have bred and also don't screen their puppy buyers carefully enough. I intend to be 100% responsible for the puppies I breed and ask that if anyone ever needs to rehome a Silvergrayce puppy or dog that I am to be the first person contacted. I intend to microchip and ear tattoo and hope to stay in contact with all our puppy buyers.
The world really would be a much better place if everyone chose to purchase their dog or puppy from a shelter or from a responsible breeder, please think about this the next time someone asks you advice about where to get their next dog or puppy from!!
